Empress Catherine the Great purchased a considerable collection
of Western European paintings. She could have no idea that her
collection would lay the foundation for what is now the State
Hermitage Museum - one of the largest museums in the world with
more than 3 million items.
Join us for a unique
opportunity to learn about and see the Hermitage with a truly
Russian perspective with our local expert Vadim Palchun. He will
share the history of the collection as well as take you on a
visit to the museum and its restoration rooms.
Please note there is
an extra charge for this escorted tour and it must be reserved
and paid in advance due to space limitations. The tour
also requires a considerable amount of walking. The
